Prof. Dr. Nancy Rabalais

Nancy Rabalais has conducted estuarine and coastal ocean research for over four decades, primarily in the Gulf of Mexico.

Her interests lie in river/ocean interactions, eutrophication, deoxygenation, ocean acidification, fate and effects of pollutants, and science policy. She was an active member of the LOICZ community beginning in 1999, served the Scientific Steering Committee in 2006-2009, and spoke at the LOICZ Special Session at the Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation meeting in 2015 in its transition to Future Earth Coasts.

Dr. Rabalais maintains an active research program and contributes to state, national and international working groups, panels, and advisory boards.
