Celene Milanés Batista is a muti, inter and trans-disciplinary Scientist. She focuses her research activities on analyzing natural or anthropical threats, and vulnerabilities in insular states, continental coastal cities, and river basins. She closely works with issues, such as SDGs, Land-Use Planning, urban risk, governance, coastal pollution, integrated ecosystems management, tourism, and urban resilience. She received the National Award from the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Cuba, (2020 and 2015), as well as the Stephen Olsen International Chair in Integrated Coastal Management Award, in Mexico, (2021).
