Dr. Daniel Onyedikachi Ugwu

Dr. Daniel Onyedikachi Ugwu is an interdisciplinary researcher with hands-on experience and interest in ecotoxicology, climate change adaptation, natural resource management, environmental policy research and community engagement and advocacy. He has a PhD in Environmental Biochemistry from the University of Nigeria and is currently a lecturer in the Department of Medical Biochemistry, David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences, Uburu, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. He has demonstrated scholarly excellence through the publication of several journal articles, conference papers, policy reports and op-eds in the broad areas of environmental toxicology and policy, climate change adaptation and development discourse. He is a) a 2023 Commonwealth Futures Climate Research Cohort Fellow b) a 2022 fellow of the Climate Governance, Diplomacy and Negotiations Leadership Program – Cohort X at AGNES; c) a member of the Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology d) a member of the National Expert Working Group on Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework for Nigeria; and e) a 2020 ONE Campaign Champion.
