Rael Teresa Adhiambo is a PhD candidate in oceanography and limnology with the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (DFAS) at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. Her research focuses on the impacts of climate change and pollution on tropical coastal ecosystems, with a specific focus on estuarine productivity and food web interactions. Currently, she has been undertaking an “ecotoxicological assessment of climate change and pollution-related stressors on selected plankton communities along the Gulf of Guinea Coastline”. This work has been funded by the World Bank, through the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) Project, the Danish International Development Agency through the HOTSPOTS 2 project (39889), and the Tonolli Memorial Grant from the International Society for Limnology (SIL).
